Nurse Manager Med-Surg
Job DescriptionOur client, DCH Health System has retained our services to identify, qualify, and attract an outstanding and talented nursing leader to serve as Nurse Manager for the Medical Surgical unit. Will have 24/7 responsibility and is supported by Team Leaders, Educators, Nurses, PCAs and a SWAT team.

DCH Health System operates specialty units for orthopedics, cancer (affiliated with MD Anderson) and cardiology, as well as the region's only trauma center, and most advanced intensive care unit, and Surgery programs.
The candidate will demonstrate Servant Leadership principles and serve as the Chief Recruitment and Retention officer for the unit. This leader is visible and serves as a mentor to the team. Budget management, performance feedback, and productivity standards are all part of the job.
As the Nurse Manager of Med/Surg, you will have the opportunity to impact direct patient care through effective leadership, team building, strategic financial analysis, and critical thinking skills. The unit consists of 42 beds up to 48. The team consists of Team Leaders (Asst. Nurse Managers), Nurses, Nurse Educators, and PCAs. Total FTEs under this role is between 55 -60.

- Current RN license
- BSN or Healthcare related degree,
- or must be actively working on a bachelor’s degree with a completion date within 4 years of hire.
- Masters preferred
- At least 3 years in management experience required.
- 5 years of acute care experience with a progressive rise in responsibility.
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma a plus.
- Ability to lead and motivate others.
