2. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center – New York, NY
Founded in 1884, the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has maintained its position in the top two cancer care hospitals in the U.S. for over 30 years. In addition to being one of the top pediatric cancer care hospitals, more physicians from Memorial Sloan Kettering were recognized by New York Magazine 2019 Best Doctors issue than any other hospital in New York.
3. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute – Boston, MA
This year, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute moved up two positions to take over third place, where the Mayo Clinic previously ranked third in 2020. The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is recognized for its recent contribution to 35 out of 75 cancer drugs approved for use in cancer patients by the FDA. Dana-Farber is also a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School and many other nursing schools in Boston.
4. Mayo Clinic – Rochester, NY

5. The Johns Hopkins Hospital – Baltimore, MD
Doubling as an education and biomedical research center, the Johns Hopkins Hospital has over 40 locations and treats almost 4 million patients each year. Their Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center treats 25 types of cancers with carefully tailored treatment.
6. Cleveland Clinic – Cleveland, OH
The Cleveland Clinic’s Hematology and Medical Oncology Department treats patients with cancer or blood disorders in 16 locations around Ohio. Their physicians are world-renowned and leaders in their cancer specialty.
7. Massachusetts General Hospital – Boston, MA
Although Mass General Hospital is #7 on the list, it is the #1 Research Hospital in America according to U.S. News and World Report. It is also the only hospital to be recognized in all 16 specialties where over 3,300 patients participated in clinical trials which lead to new knowledge and breakthrough therapies.
8. The Mount Sinai Hospital – New York, NY
With cancer treatment locations spread through the New York metropolitan area The Mount Sinai Hospital employs more than 7,200 physicians. With specialists from the rarest types of cancer to the most common, Mount Sinai offers the most current and advanced treatment options to their patients.
9. Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center – Baltimore, MD
The Bayview location of Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center specializes in Breast Cancer, Esophageal Cancer, and Lung Cancer. The Sidney Kimmel Center is the only one in Maryland, and one of only 71 in the country, designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a Comprehensive Cancer Center.
10. Mayo Clinic – Phoenix, AZ
Employing more than 3,500 physicians and scientists, the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center is also one of the NCI’s designated comprehensive cancer centers. The Mayo Clinic Cancer Center also holds six SPORE grants including Breast Cancer, Hepatobiliary Cancer, Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Ovarian Cancer, and Pancreatic Cancer.
